Elcon Precision is a pioneer in the manufacture of custom metalized ceramics, brazed assemblies, and precision photochemically machined parts. They provide a comprehensive range of engineering, material science, manufacturing, and assembly services for mission-critical components.
Elcon specializes in manufacturing brazed assemblies of ceramic-metal and metal-metal. Typical metals brazed include copper, alloy steels, molybdenum, stainless steel, and Kovar, and typical ceramics are alumina, beryllia, zirconia, and aluminum nitride. Common applications include aerospace components, microwave-transmitting tubes, and medical components. Many of these are in high vacuum environments that have stringent hermeticity requirements.
The photochemical machining operation creates burr-free and stress-free metal parts in 2D and 3D configurations. Elcon is one of the very few manufacturers in the world that can process and shape refractory and specialty metals such as molybdenum, tungsten, titanium, and nitinol. They also process common metals such as copper, gold, beryllium, stainless steel, Hastelloy, and Inconel. The selective and blanket electroplating processes (Gold, Silver, Copper, Nickel) enable additive manufacturing options. Their hybrid process combines CNC machining with photo etching to create parts that could not be made by etching or machining alone.
